National Sports Festival: Coordination meeting held for organizing Sports Festival

A coordination meeting for organizing 5th National Sports Festival was held at the Ministry of Information in Nay Pyi Taw in the afternoon on June 6th.

First, the Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn said that the 5th National Sports Festival will be held from 9th to 20th December at Wunna Theiddi stadium in national level. In this meeting, the agenda of opening and closing ceremonies of national sports festival will be discussed.

It’s suggested to organize combining with the activities carried out at the SEA Games hosted in 2013, the artistes and technicians will participate in the discussion and the ministries urged to discuss in detail what’s wanted to implement.

Roughly, the opening ceremony is planned to hold in grand scale and the closing ceremony will be concluded with the football match, songs honored the national sports festival and the programs of collective demonstration and entertainments.

The national sports festival is the one with the national essence. It’s a festival fostered the patriotic spirit, nationwide participated festival and it will be implemented for the pride of being a Myanmar national and receiving an emotion back at the sentiment while viewing the SEA Games etc.

Next, the Union Minister U Min Thein Zan said that the opening and closing ceremonies are the Prime events for a festival which brings the national prestige, the agenda (draft) of opening ceremony will be submitted, at the opening ceremony of 5th National Sports Festival, the national flag will be brought to the sports ground in Free Fall with parachute and hoisted it and the artistes and students will sing the songs and dance.

The entertainment programs of Myanmar Motion Picture Organization, Myanmar Music association, Myanmar Theatrical association and Myanmar Comedians Association will be included. The opening ceremony is planned to carry out with 17 agenda. I’s a plan of opening and closing ceremonies by referencing previous opening and closing ceremonies and all are urged to give supplementary suggestions.

The Union Minister for Construction U Myo Thant clarified the performances, decorations of stage, light designs and invited the more suggestions. Then, the Director General of the Department of Information and Public Relations clarified the main fundamental points in planning the opening and closing ceremonies, plans of agenda, songs to be presented at the opening and closing ceremonies and the musical performances.

After that, Deputy Ministers, artistes, technicians and attendees discussed the related sector for successfully organizing 5th National Sports Festival and the Union Ministers coordinated requirements. Then, the Union Minister U Maugn Maung Ohn gave a speech of conclusion.
