Ceremony in Monywa: Library development and promoting reading activities

The Ceremony for Library development and promoting reading activities was held in No.(3) basic education high school in Monywa of Sagaing Region on 5th June. Chief Minister U Myat Kyaw cooperation of regional officials at different levels in implementing the activities for library development and promoting reading habit.

Next, the Chief Minister and officials donated books and periodicals worth 500,000 kyats for 13 Basic Education Schools in Monywa, and then the Principals made discussions for library development and promoting the reading habit.

Next, wives of the Members of Regional Government gave certificates of honor to the panelist teachers. The Chief Minister and officials toured around the students who are reading in the library and the arrangement of displayed books and periodicals.

They also observed the reading promotion activities, students’ discussion and quiz as well as the display of books and periodicals by the Department of Information and Public Relations.
