Tourism Promotion: “One Tourist One Tree” & CBT at Smart Villages

The Ministry of Hotels and Tourism is planning to implement “One Tourist One Tree” program and “Community Based Tourism” (CBT) at the Smart Villages.

A coordination meeting on implementation of these projects was held at the Ministry on Wednesday. Union Minister Dr Thet Thet Khine gave an opening remark, saying that the projects will be implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation.

She added that among the smart villages in Regions and States including Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, the potential villages will be selected systematically while coordinating with the related ministries to participate in this project.

The Union Minister urged the attendees to provide suggestions and discussions for the implementation of “One Tourist One Tree” program and “Community Based Tourism-CBT”. Officials clarified the work implementation for the projects and cooperation plan.

Deputy Minister U Phyo Zaw Soe and Union Minister Dr. Thet Thet Khaing elaborated on the reports and coordinated the needs. The Ceremony concluded with the remarks by the Union Minister.
