WED in Hakha: Chin State CM attended the ceremony

A ceremony to mark the 2024 World Environment Day is held at the office of Chin State General Administration Department in HakhaTownship on Wednesday morning with the attendance of the Chief Minister Dr. Wong Hsun Htan, Chief Justice of State High Court, state ministers, State Advocate General, many other concerned officials and invited guests.

At the ceremony, the Chief Minister stressed that the theme of the 51st World Environment Day which falls on 5th of June, 2024 is “Land restoration, desertification and drought resilience”. According to the theme, the relevant individuals and organizations are encouraged to make concerted efforts in land restoration, stopping desertification and building drought resilience by actively participating in the environmental conservation activities such as preserving forests and marine resources and practicing systematic water consumption, the Chief Minister added.

Then, a video message sent by the United Nations Secretary General was screened. It was followed by the screening of video clips commemorating World Environment Day. After the ceremony, the Chief Minister cordially greeted the attendees and gave words of encouragements.
