Spreading Disinformation: Clarification on fake news in Sittwe

The Illegal media outlets have been spreading misinformation and disinformation, alleging that security forces set fire at Kan Pyin and Ywar Haung villages in Sittwe Township on 1st June. The security officer of concerned area told that security forces conducted the law enforcement tasks for stability of Byaine Phyu Village on 30th May. There was no such operation to other nearby villages.

AA insurgents are committing the terrorist acts including launching attacks to the residential areas using heavy weapons and arson attacks. The Illegal media outlets are disseminating fake news on social media platforms in order to divert the acts of terrorist and mislead the public on the law enforcement tasks of security forces.
