Agricultural Development: Inspection at summer sesame and paddy plantations

Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Min Naung and officials toured around the plantations of summer sesame and paddy at the Thit Seint Pin Village, Lewe Township on 2nd June.

During the inspection, the Union Minister said that sesame is a new crop for this region with its first experience of cultivation, and thus, it might have requirements. He urged officials to make close observation and provide the requirements.

As a systematic preparation for next cultivation season, the Union Minister called for cooperation and collaboration among the locals and concerned officials to fetch good harvest for benefits of farmers and plans for avoiding crop damages including the climatic condition. He also instructed to dig the canals for proper flow of water into the paddy fields.
