










Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing together with officials, visited Bagan Archaeological Zone in Nyaung U District of Mandalay Region on Saturday to oversee the renovation of ancient lakes.
On arrival at Mya Kan Dam, built by King Kyan Sittha in 1088, Union Minister for Religious Affairs U Tin Oo Lwin and officials provided update reports on progress of renovation works.
The Prime Minister instructed for systematic implementation to ensure long term durability and proper flow of water to prevent from inundation due to heavy rain fall.
The Prime Minister and party later toured the Mya Kan Dam area, and gave instructions. They them proceeded to Pyauk Seik Pin Lake near Pyauk Seik Pin Village and inspected the progress of renovation works for Pyauk Seik Pin Lake 1, 2 and 3.
The Prime Minister and party also inspected Zeyawady (Zeyawaiyi) Lake and Mingala Lake No.3, and gave necessary instruction.
On arrival at the renovation site of Ywa Haung Gyi Lake, Yaytaw Muni Lake, officials from the Department of Archaeological and National Museum reported on the discovery of ancient lake embankment during the process of digging the lakes.
The Prime Minister instructed for systematic maintenance of the valuable discovery, while making preparation measures to prevent from entering of rain water into the worksite.
During the inspection tour on renovation of ancient lakes in Bagan Archaeological Zone, the Prime Minister urged officials to make systematic measures to avoid damages by human and natural disasters while carrying out for environmental conservation tasks in the archaeological zone.
The Prime Minister and party later visited Myin Pyan Soy Bean Paste Industry in Thiri Mingala Ward of Nyaung U and encouraged for the extended operation of business, emphasizing for compliance with health and proper hygiene practices.
