Railroad Incident: Terrorist attack disrupts Yangon-Mandalay Railroad

On Friday, a terrorist attack targeted the rail tracks near Pattar Village in Phyu Township, between Nyaung Pin Thar and Ka Nyunt Kwin Stations on the Yangon-Mandalay Railroad. Local authorities promptly arrived at the scene to assess and clear the affected area.

The blast caused significant damage, affecting about 4 feet of the railroad and damaging five concrete sleepers across both the up and down lanes. Officials from Myanma Railway quickly mobilized to carry out the necessary repairs. Thanks to their swift efforts, the railroad resumed operation at around 12:15 pm. Despite the rapid response, the incident resulted in delays for four other trains.
