Procession With Oil Lamp Sticks: 1080 personnel and the students participated

The procession holding the oil lamp sticks by the personnel from the ministries and the students to pay homage to the Uppadasanti Pagoda and the Maravijaya Buddha Image on the Buddha Day which falls on the full moon day of Kasone was held at the precinct of Uppadasanti Pagoda and the Maravijaya Buddha Park in Nay Pyi Taw in the evening on Wednesday.

First, the decorative floats of receiving prophecy to be a Buddha by the Buddha-to-be in the life of Sumedha Harmit, Giving-Birth of Siddhatha Buddha-to-be, attaining Buddha-hood and Passing-away of Buddha and the personnel from the ministries and the students on the vehicles departed from Tabaung Kwin gathering point and paid respect to the Uppadasanti Pagoda with candle light sticks by cycling in clockwise direction.

The decorative floats, the personnel from the ministries and the students proceeded to the Maravijaya Buddha Park and the decorative floats were parked in the Maravijaya Buddha Park for paying respect by the pilgrims. The personnel from the ministries and the students holding the Sasana flags and oil lamp sticks paid homage to the Maravijaya Buddha Image by cycling in clockwise direction as in the designated routes.

Then, the personnel from the ministries and the students poured the water to the Maha Bodhi tree near the Maravijaya Buddha Image, attended the Dhamma Sabha Mingalar ceremony held in the Aggadhipati Sasana Beikman and took the sermon on the Buddha Day delivered by the Sitagu Sayadawgyi Dr. Baddanta Nanissara.

The personnel from the ministries and the students, altogether 1080 individuals paid homage to the Uppadasanti Pagoda and Maravijaya Buddha Image in a procession by holding the oil light stick, it’s learnt.
