Buddha Day ceremonies: Rakhine State CM joined the ceremonies

Organized by the Rakhine State Government, the ceremony of successfully completing continuous uninterrupted recitation of Mahapathana Dhamma Discourse and ceremony of pouring water to the Bodhi tree on the Buddha Day which falls on the full moon day of Kasone month was held at the cave of Lokananda Pagoda in Sittwe Township of Rakhine State in the morning on Wednesday and the attended by State Chief Minister U Htein Lin, Chief Justice of the State High Court, members of State Government, departmental personnel, civil society organizations and invited guests.

First, the Chief Minister and officials offered morning meal to the members of Sangha led by the Rakhine State Ovadacariya, Presiding Sayadaw of Nandarama Pariyatti Sarthintaik, Abhidhajamaharathaguru BaddantaNandathiri.

Next, the Chief Minister and officials paid homage to the Buddha Image in the cave of Lokananda Pagoda and offered flowers, water and candle light.

At the ceremony of successfully completing continuous uninterrupted recitation of Mahapathana Dhamma Discourse and ceremony of pouring water to the Bodhi tree on the Buddha Day, the congregation led by the State Chief minister observed five precepts administered by the Presiding Sayadaw of Nandarama Pariyatti Sarthintaik, took the Paritta Suttas recited by the members of Sangha, offered the offertories to the Sangha, took the sermon delivered by the

the Presiding Sayadaw of Pannalankara monastery BaddantaNaginda and shared the merits gained.

At the second part of the ceremony, the congregation led by the Chief Minister paid respect to the Lokananda Pagoda in clockwise direction to pour water to the Bodhi tree at the North-East direction of the pagoda. Then, members of Sangha, State Government led by the Chief Minister, departmental personnel and local residents poured water No (1) and (2) Bodhi trees, it’s reported.
