Preparation for Nationwide Census: MoIP UM held a meeting with officials in Shan State

The meeting on enumeration of 2024 population and housing census was held at the City Hall of Taunggyi Township of Shan State (South) in the morning on 21st May and attended by the Chairman of Central Census Commission Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing, Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung, State Ministers, members of Shan State Census Enumeration Supervisory Committee, State/District/Township/Ward and Village-Tract Census Committee members, civil society organizations and officials.

Next, the Chairman of Shan State Census Enumeration Supervisory Committee Chief Minister clarified the forming of the stages of committees regarding with 2024 Population and Housing Census enumeration, ongoing work implementations and action plans to be implemented.

Next, Deputy Director General of the Department of Population Dr. Khaing Khaing Soe clarified the data to be gained from the enumeration of census, vitality of demographic changes and a summarized specification from census date and then public awareness TV Spots to be broadcast was screened.

Then, the Deputy Director General explained the queries raised by the attendees. After that, Central Census Commission Chairman Union Minister U Myint Kyaing handed over the materials and aids regarding the census enumeration and the Chairman of Shan State Census Committee U Sai Thaw Win accepted and the meeting was concluded.

Next, the Union Minister and Chief Minister viewed the display of equipment and materials to be used in the nationwide census enumeration and cordially greeted the attendees, it’s learnt.
