






A Stake Driving Ceremony for the construction of the Convocation Hall of the International Theravada Buddhist Missionary University took place in Mayangon Township of Yangon Region on Saturday.
The ceremony was graced by eminent members of the Sangha, including the Secretary Sayadaw of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee, Mandalay Masoeyein Taikthit Sayadaw, Chancellor Sayadaw of Sitagu International Buddhist Academy, and Rector Sayadaw of the International Theravada Buddhist Missionary University.
Following the religious rituals, Chairman of the State Administration Council and Prime Minister, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing drove the stakes at the designated places, alongside other dignitaries and donors. The construction of the Convocation Hall, initiated by the Rector Sayadaw, is a significant project aimed at creating an international standard facility.
The Prime Minister, along with his family, led the donations for this project, with contributions from various well-wishers. The planned Convocation Hall will be a four-storey building, measuring 204 feet in length, 154 feet in width, and 93.6 feet in height.
It will be equipped with modern facilities, including elevators, a car parking lot, a multi-purpose hall, a library, classrooms, office rooms, and hostels. The hall is designed to host 700 members of the Sangha during convocations.
