Information Industry: Signing of Service Provision Agreement with Xinhua

On Wednesday, the signing of Service Provision Agreement between the Myanma Radio and Television (MRTV) under the Ministry of Information and XINHUA News Agency was held at the MRTV Yangon office in the presence of Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn.

First, the Union Minister delivered a speech. Then, Director General of the MRTV U Ye Naing, Deputy Director General of Asia-Pacific Regional Bureau of XINHUA News Agency, Mr. Li Kai signed Service Provision Agreement in both Myanmar and English languages. XINHUA News Agency is the official state news agency of the People's Republic of China which was established in 1931 as Red China News Agency.

In 1935, it was transformed into the XINHUA NEWS AGENCY. As of 2024, Xinhua news agency opened a total of 180 news bureaus across the world, conducting news production, distribution and exchanging. Now, the MRTV and Xinhua news agency signed service provision agreement to exchange news free of charge.

Then, the Union Minister and officials enjoyed the shooting process of Quiz Time program which is aired weekly on the Myanmar International Television (MITV) Channel and oversaw the State Orchestra practicing at the MRTV Studio (B).

Then, the Union Minister overviewed the shooting of “Role of the Museums for Education” program which will be aired on 18th of May to commemorate the International Museum Day.

Then, the Union Minister oversaw the preparations to record and air the sermon of Vice Chairman of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee, Sasana Vaibonla Monastery presiding Sayadaw in Meikhtila township of Mandalay Region on Full Moon-day of Kason (Buddha Day).

In the afternoon, the Union Minister met with musicians and artists at the meeting hall of MRTV and gave a speech. During the meeting, the Union Minister heard reports on requirements and arrangements being carried out to hold the Music Academy Awards and development of music sector.

After hearing reports, the Union Minister stressed that Myanma Gita Day will be held on the 27th of June in Yangon to showcase the talents and unity of the individuals in music sector and urged concerned officials to make preparations in timely manner to be able to hold Music Academy Awards in October.
