Hotels & Tourism Sector: Mon State Government holds meeting 2/2024

Mon State Government held the meeting 2/2024 on Wednesday for the development of hotels and tourism sector in the State.

In the meeting at the State Government office, Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein said that Mon State has great a potential for tourism development due to its famous pagodas, natural beauty and cultural heritage. The GLMS system is being implemented in order to make the guest list delivery process orderly and save costs so that tourists can stay safely.

It is necessary to continue to obtain national-level certifications, and priority should be given to safety and security in tourist areas.Calling for cooperation, the Chief Minister stressed that tourism development will create local job opportunities.

And, the Chief Minister presented national level certificates to 3 hotels in the State. This meeting continued with concerned officials discussing training and issuance of licenses, and the Chief Minister coordinated the discussions.
