Inspection of IDP camps: Kachin State CM inspected IDPs Camps in Waingmaw

The Kachin State Government is carrying out for the closure of resettle IDP camps and temporary IDP camps as well as displaced persons due to the recent regional instability to be under shelter with safety, State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan inspected a temporary IDP camp in Waingmaw Township in the evening on 13th May. 

The Chief Minister together with the Chief Justic of the State High Court, State ministers, State level departmental officials inspected construction of artisan well, water closet and home barracks with galvanized roof, bamboo floor and bamboo mat wall with the over 10 million Kyats of assistance and provided 5 million for construction of another home barrack and o.5 million Kyats for electricity installation and fulfilled other requirements.

The Chief Minister and party also inspected the settlements of displaced households at the home barracks in Compound of Catholic Church in Ma Khaw Yan Village, provided 1 million Kyats for necessary repairing and made arrangements for the children to enroll in the school, healthcare and other requirements.

In the morning on May 14, the Chief Minister held a coordination meeting with the members of State level committee, District administrative Bodies regarding with the closure of resettle IDP camps and temporary IDP camps as well as displaced persons due to the recent regional instability to be under shelter with safety.

In the afternoon, the Chief minister also held (3/2024) coordination meeting of the State Investment Committee and gave an opening speech.

At 8 AM of 14th May, the Chief Minister and wife attended the health education talk for the development of youth sector co-organized by the Minister of Health and the Kachin State ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs and provided 500,000 Kyats for the talk and the Chief Minister’s wife, State Women’s Affairs Committee and Maternal and Child Welfare Association distributed cakes and sweet drinks, it’s learnt.
