Celebration of Bangla New Year: Bangladesh Embassy in Yangon organizes the event

Bangladesh Embassy in Yangon celebrated Bangla New Year celebration in Yangon on Saturday. Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein attended the celebration. Being one of the most colourful festivals in Bangladesh, the New Year Festival known as Pahela Baishakh, is a celebration of hope, renewal and the spirit of togetherness that transcends borders and cultures.

Bangladesh Ambassador to Myanmar expressed in his greetings that there are similar celebrations local new year in many South Asian and Southeast Asian countries including Myanmar, which takes place around mid-April. He urged all to celebrate not only the turning of the calendar but the endless possibilities that the future holds. The celebration saw various cultural activities including Mongol Shovajatra and Boishakhi Fair.
