Terrorist Attack: Kyone Eait Bidge damaged by terrorist attack

In the morning of 11th May, terrorist from KNLA and PDF launched attack with heavy weapons and drop bomb to the security forces who are carrying out security operation near KyoneEait reinforced concrete bridge on the Yangon-Mawlamyine Union Highway, Thahone township of Mon State.  

The terrorist retreated due to counter attack by the security forces, blasting the bridge during their retreat the north-east of the bridge. Due to the incident, the northern approached way of KyoneEait bridge was damaged 100%.

The terrorists destroyed the public infrastructures, with the intention to face difficulty in transportation with losses in commodity flow while causing panic and distrupting the stability. The act of damaging the non-military target is committing a War Crime. Officials and staff from respective Road/bridge departments are taking prompt action for the repair processes, and security forces continue the counter-Terrorism operation to ensure stability.
