Better Transportation: Keng Tung Bypass Road commissioned into service

Opening Ceremony of Bypass road in Keng Tung of Shan State (East) was held on Saturday with the presence of Chairman of the State Administration Council, Prime Minister, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.

The event was also attended by the wife of SAC Chairman Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, Joint Secretary of the SAC and wife, SAC members and wives, Union Ministers and wives, Shan State Chief Minister and wife, Senior military officials from the Commander-in-Chief office, Commander of Triangle Region Command, departmental officials, town elders, locals, Ethnic Cultural Associations and students.

The Prime Minister and his wife were welcomed by townelders, locals, Ethnic Cultural Associations and students.

Then, SAC Joint Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo, Council members – General Mya Tun Oo and Lt-Gen Nyo Saw, Union Minister for Construction U Myo Thant and Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung formally opened the bypass road by cutting the ribbon.

Next, the Prime Minister unveiled the Stone inscription of the road and sprinkled scented water. After that, the SAC Joint secretary and officials sprinkled scented water on the Stone inscription. Then, the Prime Minister and wife and party, departmental officials, townelders, and locals posed for documentary photos.

Next, the Prime Minister presented cash of honour to band troupe and pom pom dance troupes, as well as Ethnic dance troupes and Cultural Associations. Later, the Prime Minister and party inspected along the bypass road of Keng Tung and cordially greeted the locals and staff.

Keng Tung bypass road has been implemented on Meikhtila-Tachileik Road since 2019 aiming to reduce the traffic in Keng Tung and smooth commodity flow. The facility is a tar-concrete road with 23ft wide and 6 mile long.
