Agriculture Sector: Deputy Minister tours in Ayeyawady Region

Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Bo Bo Kyaw together with the minister for security and border affairs and departmental officials inspected the embankment near Phaungseik village in Hinthada township on 10th May.

Official from Irrigation and Water Utlization Department clarified the history of landslides, and construction of embankments to protect the water flow headed to Hinthada Town. Upon the clarification, the Deputy Minister instructed the officials to carry out the current and long-term plans with the  cooperation of relevant departments.

Then, the Deputy Minister and party met with officers and staff from the Departments of Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Utlization and Settlement and Land Record, at Hinthada Township Hall.

At the meeting, the Deputy Minister urged all to conduct field trips to know the ground condition  and to get accurate statistics of cultivation acres and per acre yield. He emphasized to implement the edible oil Special Zones and necessaries to increase per acre yield. Afterwards, the Minister for Security and Border Affairs and the Directors-General made all round discussion for development of agriculture sector.

Next, Deputy Minister and party arrived at No.2 B.E.H.S Shwe Ku in Danuphyu where they clarified the oil self-sufficient policy and guidelines of the government and instructed to cooperate with departmental officials and farmers harmoniously for the implementation of edible oil special Zones.

Then, officials explained the measures to achieve the target yield of edible oil crops and replied the questions raised by farmers.
