Drugs seizure: 1.5 mln stimulant tablets worth 750 mln Kyats seized

A total of 1.5 million stimulant tablets worth 750million Kyats were seized in Naungcho Township of Shan State (North), according to Myanmar Police Force.

A combined team comprising anti-narcotic drug task force made to stop a LIGHt TRUCK vehicle driven by Nyi Nyi Aung from Yatsauk to Naungcho for inspection near Dokhtawady ()Bridge in Naungcho Township at 5:30 PM on May 3rd.

As the driver did not stop the vehicle and ran away with high speed, the combined forces blocked to capture him and Nyi Nyi Aung was arrested when the vehicle plunged into the slope of ravine and overturned near Milepost 117/3 on Naungcho-Yatsauk Road and seized a total of 1.5 million stimulant tablets worth 750 million Kyats.

According to the investigation, the stimulant tablets were being carried to Mandalay Region from Shan State. The culprit has been taken action under the law and the investigation is underway to reveal the chain of offenders.
