Agriculture & Livestock Sector: Meeting for development in Nay Pyi Taw

A coordination meeting took place on Thursday for development of livestock industry, food security and expansion of livestock zones in Nay Pyi Taw.

In this meeting, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Than Tun Oo called for efforts to improve production of rice and other crops Oil and meat and fish in order to ensure food security in Nay Pyi Taw. He also stressed the importance of triple crop a year, target yield, use of pure breeds, systematic use of inputs, sufficient agricultural water, techniques sharing and systematic breeding.

The Chairman also urged concerned officials to identify weaknesses and strong points of livestock producers to improve the livestock sector. This meeting continued with attendees making discussions on the ongoing agriculture and livestock activities, plans, food security and expansion of livestock zones in Nay Pyi Taw. And, the Chairman coordinated the discussions.
