Advancing Heritage: Mandalay's Pagoda Digital Directory Initiative

Plans are underway to install Pagoda Digital Directories at pagodas and temples in the Mandalay Region.

A clarification on the project took place on Wednesday at Mandalay City Hall. Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture, U Tin OoLwin, called for the cooperation of all concerned persons in implementing the tasks.

The Pagoda Digital Directories were set up at 10 prominent pagodas in Yangon, Mandalay, and Bago as the first phase, starting August 2023. Moreover, the Department of Archaeology and National Museum is making efforts to launch websites for the pagodas in cooperation with the universities of computer sciences from Pyay, Magway, Taungoo, and Thahton.

The setting up of the Pagoda Digital Directory in Mandalay will be carried out in cooperation with Mandalay Technological and Computer Science Universities.
