


The Information and Public Relations Department (IPRD) under the Ministry of Information is conducting a capacity building training course (1/2024).
The opening ceremony was held at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw on Monday, with the attendance by Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn, Deputy Minister U Ye Tint, departmental heads, concerned officials, trainers and trainees.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Union Minister stressed the need to create literacy-rich environment for those facing difficulties in their daily lives due to a lack of knowledge in literature. He exhorted all trainees to pay special emphasis on implementation of the role of libraries and their culture.
The Union Minister emphasized the need to improve reading habit, the importance of united efforts by the staff, as well as enhancing individual capabilities. He highlighted the purposes of the training course, aiming to effectively implement departmental activities and reskill individuals. The course covers subjects that will be practically applied in the department's activities.
The Union Minister urged all trainees to share the knowledge gained with others and put concerted efforts in the implementation process of the Ministry’s visions and missions. A total of 30 staff officers from IPRD district and township offices from regions and states including Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory joined the course which will be open until May 11th.
