





The Ministry of Hotels and Tourism conducted the opening ceremony of the Chinese language training courses HSK-1 and 2 on Monday in Nay Pyi Taw.
Present at the ceremony were Union Minister Dr. Thet Thet Khaing, Deputy Minister, Permanent Secretary, Director General, Deputy Permanent Secretary, Deputy Directors General, Directors, and the Principal of Fuqing International Language Center, Mandalay.
The ceremony was also attended by trainers, departmental personnel from its affiliated departments, and trainees via online.
Speaking at the occasion, the Union Minister underlined the importance of performance and language proficiency among ministerial staff for further development of Myanmar’s Hotels and Tourism Sector. She mentioned that scholars have been sent abroad through short-term and long-term study programs to enhance their capacity.
Additionally, the Union Minister highlighted that the ministry offers language courses covering English, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, and Thai.
The Union Minister reiterated that training courses on hotel service, travel service, and language are being conducted in tourist destination areas as a priority to develop human resources in the hotels and tourism sector, increase job opportunities, improve individual income, and reduce poverty. She urged all trainees to effectively learn the language, apply the knowledge gained in the workplace, and strive to become reliable staff members for the Ministry.
Afterward, the principal of Fuqing International Language Center reported on the learning conditions and the current plans of the training courses. Subsequently, the Union Minister and the Deputy Minister oversaw the Chinese language training courses and provided necessary instructions. The Chinese language courses, attended by 100 trainees, will be conducted for 2 months.
