



A mine blast on the Bago-Mawlamyine rail section caused the derailment of the No. 686 train, which was carrying gravel from Thae Phyu Kone to Kali.
The blast occurred around 7:05 am on Wednesday morning. Due to the blast, the engine room and its adjacent coach, as well as two coaches carrying gravel, derailed. The incident resulted in a delay for two passengers, and officials from Myanma Railway provided convenient arrangements for them.
Security members are carrying out the necessary operations to ensure safety, while the staff of Myanma Railway is conducting repair measures to expedite the resumption of the rail section. Similarly, a mine blast occurred on the Yangon-Mandalay rail section, which is under a project with no rail service on Wednesday morning.
From February 1st, 2021, to date, terrorist insurgents have committed 130 mine blasts along the rail line network, including 53 instances of blasting rail bridges and 12 instances of targeting rail stations and staff housing.
