Clarification of military service law: MCRD UM clarified regarding military service law

An educating talk on Public Military Service Law and durbar meeting with the personnel was held at the meeting hall of the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development in the morning on 9th April and attended by the Union Minister U Hla Moe, Deputy Minister U Myint Soe, permanent secretary, Directors General, officers and staff members.

First, the Union Minister said that the People’s Military Service Law was enacted by the State Peace and Development Council with Law No (27/2010) to serve military service and train military skills for the Defense of the country in order to safeguard the “Our Three Main Causes”: Non-Disintegration of the Union, Non-Disintegration of the National Unity and Perpetuation of sovereignty and the State Administration Council enforced that law on 10th February, 2024 with Order No (24/2024). The people’s military service law is enacted not only in Myanmar but also several countries on the world are exercising it.

The Union Minister explained the formation of people’s military servants summoning bodies in different levels and their assigned duties, people who has the right to apply temporary suspension from the duty, age limits of those who will serve the military duty, service period and entitlements during the service etc.

Next, the responsible officials gave necessary clarifications regarding with the People’s Military Service Law and the personnel asked the questions on what they wanted to know.
After that, the durbar of the personnel under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development was held and the Union Minister, Deputy Minister and officials coordinated and fulfilled requirements of the personnel.
