Promoting Education: Basic Literacy Classes in Chaungsone Township

Basic literacy classes opened in the villages of ChaungSone Township, Mon State, intending to promote teaching and learning methods, improve literacy of all rural population, and familiarize the illiterates with education.

Relevant officials and members of the Township supervisory committee for literacy conducted ground inspections on basic education schools in Kanyaw, KwanThel, KamarKay and NatMhaw. Upon the inspection, they observed the learning procedures and coordinated the requirements. 

In ChaungSone Township, 63 teachers and 6 supervisors are conducting basic literacy lessons to 942 students, approximately 3 hours per day during 40-day period from 6th April to 15th May.
