Safety and Security: Receiving UN delegation in Nay Pyi Taw

Deputy Prime Minister and the Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U ThanSwe received UN Under-Secretary-General for Safety and Security Mr. Gilles Michaud at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday.

During the meeting, Mr. Gilles Michaud discussed the security of the UN personnel and the travel access for operating respective functions of UN Agencies in Myanmar. The Deputy Prime Minister and the Union Minister for Foreign Affairs responded that Myanmar highly prioritizes the safety and security of the UN personnel and facilitates at its best for the travel access for the UN agencies. Moreover, they exchanged views on matters related to transnational crimes.
