





The opening ceremony of basic literacy work instructors and supervisors training for the literacy of rural population and the ethnic peoples in Mon State was held at the Education Degree College in Mawlamyaing in the morning on 2nd April and attended by the Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein, Chief Justice of the State High Court, State Ministers, State education officer and trainee teachers.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief Minister said that regarding with the basic literacy for every citizen, in the implementation of Education for All, by linking with going school of school age children, adult literacy work for post school age is being implemented simultaneously.
The literacy campaign is implemented aiming at those who could not study to complete the primary education, people who did not go to school and ethnic people.
The teachers who attended the basic literacy work central level instructor training will give the State level multiplier training course. The cooperation of departmental officials, teachers and volunteers are needed.
Next, the Chief Justice of the State High Court provided cash assistance for 9 teachers who attended central level training for summer vacation period literacy campaign, Chief Minister provided cash assistance for the instructors and supervisors who attend the State level multiplier training course and teaching aid materials and the State education officer accepted the assistance. Then, the trainee teachers were cordially greeted.
The basic literacy work state level training will be given for three days from 2nd to 4th April and the literacy campaign will be implemented with 897 study groups of 13450 trainees of literacy training, 897 training instructors, 90 supervisors in 8 townships in Mon State, it’s reported.
