
















A ceremony to confer religious titles for 2024 was held at AggadipadhiSasanaBeikmandawgyi in Maravijaya Buddha Park of Nay Pyi Taw on Sunday.
Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife attended the ceremony. The congregation led by the Prime Minister took Five Precepts from the Chairman of State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Sayadaw of ThanlyinMinkyaung Monastery.
Then, the Patron Sayadaw of Maha Dhammikaram Meikhitla Monastery of Mandalay State Ovada Ceriya Sayadaw delivered OvadaGada, followed by the submitting of religious matters by Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin. It was followed by conferring of the religious titles to the recipient Sayadaws.
The Prime Minister presented the title of Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru and insignia to the recipient Sayadaw from Buddha Sasana Theikpan Monastery and Sein Ma MaPali University of Mawlamyine.
Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win also presented Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru title and insignia to the recipient Sayadaw from Maha Dhammikaram Meikhitla Monastery of Mandalay.
This was followed by conferring of AbhidhajaMahaRattha Guru title,AbhidhajaAggaMahaSaddhammaJotika title and insignias by Secretary and the Joint Secretary of the State Administration Council.
Afterwards, the SAC members, union level personnel, union ministers, senior military officers form the Commander-in-Chief Office and officials conferred religious titles and insignias to the recipient Sayadaws.
Then, wife of the Prime Minister DawKyuKyuHla presented AggaMaha GanthavacakaPandita title and insignia to the recipient nuns from Zeya Theingi Sarthintaik of Sagaing and Aye Thuwady Nunnery of Monywa.
It was followed by presenting of Sasana Nuggaha titles, and the Prime Minister presented AggaMahaThiriThuddhama Mani Jotadhaya title and ThiriThuddhama Mani Jotadhayatitle and insignias to the recipients.
The Deputy Prime Minister later presented ThiriThuddhama Mani Jotadhaya title and insignia to the recipient.Then, the Prime Minister’s wife presented Agga Maha Thiri ThuddhamaTheingi title, and Thiri Thuddhama Theingi title and insignias to the recipients.Wife of the Deputy Prime Minister also presented Thiri Thuddhama Theingi title and insignia to the recipients.
The congregation led by the Prime Minister and wife listened to the sermon delivered by the Masoeyein Thaik Thit Sayadaw of Mandalay and shared the merits gained.The State Administration Council conferred religious titles to 421Sayadaws from home and abroad, 41 nuns and 47 laypersons in 2024.
In today’s ceremony, 5 Sayadaws were conferred Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru title, 6Sayadaws for AbhidhajaAgga Maha SaddhammaJotika, 21Sayadaws for Agga Maha Pandita, 45Saydaws for Agga Maha SaddhamaJotikadhaja, 23Sayadaws for Agga Maha Ganthavacaka Panditaand 8Sayadaws for Agga Maha Kammatthanacariya as well as 2 senior nuns for AggaMahaGanthavacakaPandita.
Likewise, 12 laypersons were presented Sasana Nuggaha Titles and insignia. The remaining recipient Sayadaws, Nuns and laypersons were also presented by the officials of Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, and respective Regions and States.
After the ceremony, the Prime Minister and wife, the Deputy Prime Minister and wife, and officials donated rice and offertories to the Sayadaws and nuns who received the religious titles.
