Spreading Disinformation: Fake news on data collecting for military service

It has been found that illegal and destructive Media, Khit Thit, is spreading fake news, alleging that the government is collecting data of the person with epilepsy, mental disorder and those with monocular vision, in Nanyun, Lahe, and Leshi Townships of Naga self- administered zone, Sagaing Region to serve military duties.

Concerning this, an official refuted that this false claim is propagating intentionally to cause misunderstanding on the officials who are serving the duties of respective summoning bodies for People’s military servant.

In Chapter-6 of the People’s Military Service Law, exemptions from military service include those with permanent disabilities and those determined by the Tatmadaw Medical Examination Board to be permanently unfit for military service.

Thus, illegal subversive media are spreading fabricated news regarding the People’s Military Service Law on social media platform in order to make people panic and misunderstanding among the public.
