Religious Occasion: Novitiation Ceremony for staff members and families

The Ministry of Information organized a Novitiation Ceremony for staff members and their families on Friday.

Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn and wife attended the ceremony, along with Deputy Minister U Ye Tint and wife, the permanent secretary, departmental heads, their wives, staff members, and their families.

The ceremony proceeded according to its established procedures, which included the procession of novices along designated routes, paying homage to the Maravijaya Buddha Image, and other traditional rituals.

The ceremony is set to continue on the 23rd, featuring ordination, listening to sermons, donating offertories to the Sayadaws and members of the Sangha, and sharing merits.

In total, 49 family members will undertake religious duties during the ceremony, including 22 monks, 9 novices, and 6 nuns.
