Study Tour: Myanmar delegation arrived back from Russia

Myanmar delegation led by Chairman of the Union Election Commission U Ko Ko arrived back Yangon on 20th March, after paying a study visit to Russia Federation.

The delegation visited Russia from 12th to 20th March to observe the Russian Presidential Election, at the invitation of the Chairperson of Russian Central Election Commission. During the tour, the delegation met with Chairperson of Russian Central Election Commission Ms. Ella Pamfilova and discussed for cooperation in electoral matter.

They also attended the press briefing, held at the commission’s information center, toured to Election Observation Headquarter in Moscow. The delegation also participated in the international conference on Electoral Sovereignty and International Norms.” They also observed the process of casting votes at the polling stations in Moscow and Kolomna as well as through CCTV monitoring system.

The delegation also joined the seminar on assessment on observation the election by the international observers, held at the Central Election Commission. Over 700 observers from 106 countries observed the Russian Presidential Election where the incumbent President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin won the election with 87.28 per cent of votes.
