





The Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations held a briefing on the Public Military Service Law for the staff at the Ministry on Tuesday with the attendance by Union Minister Dr.Kan Zaw.
Speaking on the occasion, the Union Minister unveiled the intention of the briefing for the departmental personnel and their families to widely have comprehensive information regarding Public Military Service Law.
The Union Minister added that, after Myanmar gained independence in 1948, the Public Military Service Law was enacted in 1959.
Section 385 of 2008 constitution stipulates that “Every citizen has the duty to safeguard independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar” and Section 386 states that, “Every citizen has the duty to undergo military training in accord with the provisions of the law and to serve in the Armed Forces to defend the Union.”
The Public Military Service Law was promulgated as Law No 27/2010 of the State Peace and Development Council on 4 November 2010, and the aforesaid law came into effect on 10th February 2024 as per the announcement of the State Administration Council.
And, the relevant official emphasized the need to safeguard the Our Three Main National Causes such as non-disintegration of the Union, non-disintegration of national solidarity and perpetuation of sovereignty and gave sector-wise discussion on Public military service law.
