Electric Power: MOEP Union Minister tours in Nay Pyi Taw

Union Minister for Electric Power U Nyan Tun accompanied by Deputy Minister U Aye Kyaw and departmental officials on Saturday arrived at the construction site of power substation near mile post No-200 on Yangon-Mandalay Highway at which they inspected the work progress.

During the inspection, the Union Minister instructed to complete the construction works in time, to meet the set standard and to be cautious for worksite safety.

The Union Minister and party later proceeded to the Dekkinathiri Township Power Transmission Station where officials reported the work measures on preparing for Meter Inspection Test Lab.

Upon the reports, the Union Minister said the Meter Inspection Department was previously opened only in Yangon, and now the facility was opened in Nay Pyi Taw to provide timely services for increased consumption of electricity in Upper and Central Myanmar.

He urged to execute the work process as much as possible since the necessary equipment have already been provided. Later, they viewed around the installation of machines for meter inspection.

On arrival at the Material Planning Department of Electric Engineering Office (Nay Pyi Taw) in Lewe township, officials clarified the measures undertaken on which the Union Minister supplemented the necessaries including fire safety.

Afterwards, the Union Minister inspected the deploying materials for the projects. Next, the Union Minister met with staff, and officials reported on the action plans to be implemented in respective financial years.

After hearing the reports, the Union Minister said it is necessary to reduce loss of power and electricity bills, and to collect the bills accurately. Later, the Union Minister cordially met with staff and fulfilled the requirements.
