




Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Soe Win together with officials visited the Day Care Centre for the Aged under the Social Welfare Department (Yangon) on 29th February.
During the visit, they observed caring the elder persons of aged 70 and above with no chronic illness. Official reported on caring services being provided at the center.
The Union Minister and party then toured around the center including the shrine room, dormitory, library, clinic, mess hall and Care Giver training room, and encouraged the elders.
Afterwards, the Union Minister met with the staff at Yangon Region Office of Social Welfare Department. He expressed words of grateful to the principals and officials who care for the social needs of people from their infants to old ages. He also pledged that the ministry will provide the necessities as much as possible.
Next, the official clarified the social welfare measures in Yangon Region and the Union Minister instructed the needs. The Union Minister and party proceeded to the Information Communication Technology (ICT) Training Center, jointly operated by Social Welfare Department and Nippon Foundation, in which the Union Minister guided the future plans for the Center after hearing the report by official.
