






The Union Minister for Information, U Maung Maung Ohnreceivedthe founding president of the Southeast Asia Video Festival for Children (SEAVFC) Ms. ELVIRA YAP Go and the team at the meeting hall of the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw in the morning on Monday and discussed extensive cooperation in the youth sector, including the holding of the fourth SEAVFC.
First, the Chairperson of SEAVFC clarified the purposes of founding the group, formation of SEAVFC with the board of directors and referees from ASEAN members countries, the first and second editions of the SEAVFC Festival were hosted by the Philippines in 2017 and 2018, and the third edition was hosted by Cambodia in 2019. She said that the fourth festival will be held in Malaysia in November 2024 and that she would like to cooperate with Myanmar as well.
After that, the Union Minister said that Myanmar is willing to collaborate in the activities on youth sector together with the regional countries extensively as the government is giving much intension on the youth sector and implementing as prioritized sector.
Myanmar's good image along with Myanmar's sincerity and generosity is wanted to show and discussed the future cooperation process. The Southeast Asian Children's Festival (SEAVFC) has been held three times since 2017, and Myanmar won awards in each competition.
In 2017, Director Kyaw Hnin Hse won the award with video drama “May The Fragrance of Thanakha Last” in professional level, in 2018, Ma Su Lin Lae won the award with “Every Heroes” short video in 9 to 12 year old amateur level and Ma Su Latt shwe Yi Zaw did with “Smile” short video in 13 to 16 years old amateur level, in 1019, Maung Arker Min Khant won the prize in 9 to 12 year old amateur level. Also present at the meeting were Deputy Minister U Ye Tint, Permanent Secretary U Myo Myint Maung, heads of departments, retired Ambassador of the Philippines Ambassador Minda C. Curz, and the responsible persons from Anak TV of the Philippines.
In the afternoon, Chairperson of SEAVFCMs. ELVIRA YAP Go and the team visited the Maravijaya Buddha image in Nay Pyi Taw.
