Trial opens for 2018 Trebes and Carcassonne attacks in France

The trial of suspects allegedly complicit in the planning of the 2018 Trèbes and Carcassonne terrorist attacks in the south of France opened on Monday in Paris.

During the attack, four people including a policeman and receptionist were shot dead in a car park and a supermarket. The attacker was shot dead at the scene, but seven defendants - one woman and six men aged between 24 and 35 - are to be tried before Paris Criminal Court.
