Marking 77th Anniversary of Union Day 2024, the opening ceremony of Tanintharyi Region Chief Ministers’ Cup Inter-National Races Futsal Tournament was held at Futsal Court in Dawei Township on Monday. At the ceremony, Chief Minister stressed that the region government is implementing duties by relevant financial year to be able to made assistances for socio-economic development of ethnic people in the region.
He continued that it is needed to support and offer ethnic youth the opportunities in the State development works and nurture them to become the good citizens who are dutiful to the State duties preserving their culture and traditions. The participant ethnic youth players are also urged to compete the game with strong sportsmanship spirit to become the reliable outstanding athletes for the State.
Totaling 15 teams of Kayin, Chin, Dawei and Mon ethnic races are going to play for this Futsal tournament which is aiming at joining hands together among the all ethnic brothers in order to carry out the nation’s development, producing new young generation with well-developed five strengths and actively engaging of the youth in the sports sector.
Afterwards, together with the spectators, Chief Minister and party enjoyed the match between KNU (Relations) team and Mon (Yayphyu) team in which KNU (Relations) team won with 6-2. The Tanintharyi Region Chief Ministers’ Cup Inter-National Races Futsal Tournament is going to be held up to 22nd of January.
