New French submarine inaugurated in Brazil

A new French submarine was inaugurated at the naval base portin the Brazilian state of Rio de Janeiro by the Brazilian navy, as part of the Franco-Brazilian strategic defense cooperation agreement signed in 2008. The submarine, equipped with heavy torpedoes and missiles with over 70 meters long and over 2 tonnes of weighs, is the second conventionally-powered submarine to be commissioned by the Brazilian Navy.
