Commemoration :Awards for Vegetable, Fruit & Hoticultural Competition

Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Min Naung attended an awarding ceremony for the Vegetable, Fruit and Hoticultural Competition in commemoration of the 76th Anniversary of Kachin State Day at the State Government Office compound on Januray 9.

In his remarks, the Union Minister said that Kachin State is a home for biodiversity hotspots where various types of crops can be grown. He also said that government is striving for prosperity of the country by making efforts for food security, market opportunities, food safety and enhancing farmers’ income.

He also gave instruction to follow GAP system for healthy life of the people. And, the country is supporting the agro-based MSME industry to improve export sector and collective efforts are needed between the government and private sector for the country’s economic development, he added.

Then, a concerned official made explanation on selecting the winners of the competition and the Union Minister and officials concerned presented awards to the winning farmers in the competition.
