Donation point provides free meals for displaced Gazans

Children waited to collect food at a donation point in Rafah that provides free meals to displaced Gazans, amid continuing battles between Israel and the militant group Hamas.

The United Nations estimates 1.9 million Gazans are displaced, and the World Health Organization has warned of the risk of famine and disease, with only a minimal amount of aid entering the territory. Israel warned the Gaza war will continue throughout 2024 as unrelenting strikes killed dozens in the Palestinian territory and Hamas fired a rocket barrage at the stroke of midnight on New Year's Day.
