Independence Day Amnesty: Over a thousand inmates released in Mandalay Region

Mandalay Central Prison released 1,051 prisoners on Thursday, in accordance with the amnesty granted by the Head of State to mark Independence Day. Among the released individuals were 862 men and 189 women, who had served various extents of their prison terms.

Prior to their release, officials offered words of admonishment and provided assistance, including travel costs, other necessities, and their wages. In total, 1,697 inmates from 5 prisons and 7 labor camps in Mandalay Region benefited from the Independence Day amnesty.
