






The ceremony to hoist and salute the State Flag to mark the 2024 76th Anniversary of Independence Day was held at Mawrawaddy Park in Mawlamying Township of Mon State at 4:20 am on the 4th of January. First, Myanmar Police force drum and bugle corps marched to the ceremonial ground and hoisted the State Flag.
Then, saluting the State Flag and reading a message to honor the 76th Anniversary of Independence Day was continued at 7 am. First, the column of honor and drum and bugle corps from Southeast Command marched to the ground and the Mon State Chief Minister and attendees saluted the State Flag and nation’s fallen leaders.
Afterward, the Chief Minister read out the message sent by Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing on the 2024 76th Anniversary of Independence Day occasion.
Then, the Chief Minister and party attended the honorary award presenting ceremony to the persons who served for the interest of the state at the city hall, and delivered a speech, highlighting the exerted efforts of the government to ensure peace and stability of the entire nation and to build a union based on democracy and federalism.
He called for the collaborative efforts of the all-ethnic nationals to ensure prosperity of the nation. Then, the Chief Minister, the State Advocate General and state ministers presented honorary awards to a total of 169 award winners respectively.
Then, the Chief Minister and party enjoyed the Final match of Tug of War (Women) competition of the State Police Force team and Department of Sports and Physical Education team and Tug of War (Men) competition of State Fire Services Department and Sports and Physical Education Department teams.
Then, the State Advocate General and state ministers presented awards to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners in Sepak Takraw, Track and Field and Htoke Se Toe competitions and the Chief Minister presented awards to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners of Tug of War competitions.
