Xi, Biden exchange congratulations on anniversary of diplomatic ties

China's President Xi Jinping and his American counterpart Joe Biden exchanged congratulations Monday to mark the 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

In the exchange message, Xi said both sides should "take practical actions to promote the stable, healthy and sustainable development of China-US relations", according to the Chinese state media.Xi and US President Joe Biden met in San Francisco in November, vowing to improve communication in an effort to stop competition from spilling over into conflict.
