Scholz calls for respect and confidence in the face of multiple crises

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has called for mutual respect and confidence in his New Year speech on Sunday. Germany’s chancellor said his country’s citizens not to lose confidence in the future as they adapt to a world experiencing multiple crises and changing at an ever-faster pace.

He believed that every person in Germany plays a vital role, and with mutual respect, "the country needs to have no fear about the future." He added that " 2024 will be a good year for the country even if some things do turn out differently from the way they imagine them today.
