






Union Minister for Labor U Myint Naung on Thursday gave guidance to the departmental staffs who will be assigned at the Certificate of Identity (CI) book issuing centers in Thailand.
The Union Minister said 5 CI book issuing centers and 3 Mobile Units will be opened to issue CI and Overseas Worker Identification Cards (OWIC) for nearly 900,000 undocumented Myanmar workers nominated by Thai employers under the Myanmar-Thai bilateral negotiations.
He added that the initiative aims to get the legally employment permit for Myanmar workers, with full labor rights and social security benefits, enjoying the minimum wages set by the host country. He urged the labor attaches to provide effective action in solving the problems of Myanmar workers.
Next, officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Planning and Finance, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Immigration and Populations, Director General of Department of Labor, and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Labor gave necessary suggestions to the staffs, and Deputy Minister U Win Shane supplemented the needs.
