Defence Services: VSG attends passing-out parade in Yangon

Passing-out parade of the No. 21 Intake of Nursing and Paramedical Science Degree Course and No. 8 Intake of Female Nursing and Paramedical Science Degree Course of the Military Institute of Nursing and Paramedical Sciences took place at the parade ground of the institute in Yangon on Tuesday, with an address by State Administration Council Vice-Chairman Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Thiri Pyanchi Maha Thray Sithu Soe Win, on behalf of SAC Chairman Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma  Min Aung Hlaing.

The ceremony was also attended by Daw Than Than Nwe, wife of the Vice-Senior General, Union ministers and officials. The Vice-Senior General took the salute of the graduate companies and inspected the flag bearer and graduate companies. Those companies saluted the Vice-Senior General with the slow-march past and the quickmarch past.

And, the Vice-Senior General presented the best trainee award, the best training award and the best studies award to 3 trainees from the No. 8 Intake of Female Nursing and Paramedical Science Degree Course.

Speaking on the occasion, the Vice-Senior General, on behalf of the Senior General, said to develop the health care activities of the state, health workers such as doctors, nurses, pharmacists and medical professionals need to be adequately qualified. Health sciences and medical technologies that are evolving with the times are being taught in accordance with international standards.

The Vice-Senior General urged all to strive to become well-versed not only in western medicine, but also in traditional medicine to serve families of the Tatmadaw and the public. And, the Vice-Senior General took the salute of the graduate companies, left the parade ground and met with outstanding trainees and spoke words of honour at the parlour of the institute headquarters. 

In the evening, the Vice-Senior General had a graduation dinner together with the graduate nurses of the No. 21 intake and No. 8 intake of the training courses and other attendees.

After enjoying the entertainment of the military band of the institute, the Vice-Senior General presented cash awards to the band. At the Thabin Hall, the Vice-Senior General and party enjoyed the entertainment of the Myawaddy entertainment troupe under the Directorate of Public Relations and Psychological Warfare.
