Response to Fake News: Some media releasing fake news to incite stability

News media agencies released fake news stating that the regional command seized 600 million Kyats as fund from the donation to the Shwemokhtaw Pagoda in Pathein Township destined for gold foils offering and the US dollars collected for the expansion of the MawTinZun Pagoda precinct in HaiGyiKyun Township were exchanged at the rate of 2,100 kyats per dollar.

In addition, a news was issued that the Tatmadaw launched a heavy weapon attack on the Mrauk-U Archaeological Museum. Regarding these news, concerned officials stressed that these are fake news and some media are releasing those fake news with the intention of inciting the country’s stability.
