Efforts for MSME Sector :MFPEA organizes 12th Anniversary meeting

Myanmar Food Processors and Exporters Association on Thursday organized its 12th Anniversary meeting with the members at Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI) in Lanmadaw Township of Yangon Region with the attendance of the Union Minister for Industry Dr. Charlie Than and officials concerned.

During the meeting, the Union Minister said that the Ministry is implementing for the development of MSMEs sector of the country by drafting projects according to regions. Food processing businesses play a vital role for the country’s economic sector with over 50 percent of country’s business and mainly support for improvement of country’s GDP, creating job opportunities and reducing poverty.

And, the Union Minister urged all the processors to produce good quality agri-based products in accordance with good agricultural production practices and conducting educative talks for food safety in food supply chain are also important to prevent public health.

After hearing reports of the Chairman of (UMFCCI) and Secretary General of Myanmar Food Processors and Exporters Association, the meeting was concluded. Then, the Union Minister and officials viewed the displayed MSME products. At Diamond Energy Drink Factory in Lanmadaw Township and Dagon Pure Drink and Ice Factory in Sanchaung Township, the Union Minister inspected the working processes and gave necessary instructions.

And, they also made inspection of the preparations processes for displaying MSME products at the Central Committee for Development of MSMEs in Mayangone Township.
